One thing I have noticed that I’ve caught myself doing or someone else doing is looking at the labels of food before buying it. As well as when at a restaurant looking at how much calories a dish contains before eating it. Most People are concerned about how much calories they eat due to health problems or they just want to lost weight. Another thing is to avoid gaining weight over time, you should aim to burn up as many calories through basic metabolic function and physical activity as you take in. To know whether you're on track, you need to be able to estimate how many calories you need based on your age, gender and level of physical activity. Different age range need fewer calories than others like adults need fewer calories at older ages. For example, an active 31-year-old man needs about 3,000 daily calories, but an active 50-year-old man needs only about 2,800 calories.
For my project and my weekly writing I want to be able to learn peoples different ways of eating as well as how I can avoid eating un healthy foods. What can I eat instead that would taste just as good. Compare same items but different brands. And whether we want to believe it or not we need to eat healthy because Healthy food nourishes your body with essential nutrients, namely, vitamins, minerals, trace minerals, protein, carbohydrates, fats and enzymes. These nutrients are necessary for life. Without them, your body does not receive the proper fuel it needs to function optimally and you will develop health problems. It may be something minor at first, like headaches, allergies, skin problems or mild fatigue. Eventually, it will lead to major illness, like diabetes, cancer or heart disease. When you start eating healthy food, it is helpful to think of it as an adventure in healthy eating. This way it will be much easier to develop healthy eating habits that last a lifetime, rather than just going on another diet.
Yoleine, I can relate to your topic; so, ofcours this caught my attention. I personally know a lot of people who look at labels and I at first I believed it was a bad habit, but turns out its good because people need to know what is in their food. This post is well designed because you can talk about this weekly since you stated that you are going to study what other people eat and how they go about getting their foods. This will have an outcome of a successful paper because this is a problem facing the world and it is a problem that a lot of people are concerned about. And since you are stating this problem, people will be interested.
ReplyDeleteHello there. I like the idea of your blog that you are going to find healthy substitutes for unhealthy foods. This is really interesting because I want to see what you can find that tastes just as good. But, are you going to use unhealthy fast food and compare it to healthy foods? Or are you going to use processed foods from the supermarket and compare them to home cooked food?
ReplyDeleteI think this a great idea for a project! It seems like it’s going to be very informative and at the same time helpful to the readers, and will definitely keep them interested! I also feel that not enough people are getting a high intake of healthy foods; people are just eating in order to fill their stomachs, something that I myself am guilty of. I suggest that on each post you focus on a certain type of food, like replacing a certain snack with a healthier one or a certain drink with one that will provide more nutrients. The limits seem to be endless because food is endless so this project is very well designed because you will never run out of source material. I am looking forward to reading your posts so you better do a good job and educate me! You can start by telling people to replace there candy bars and potato chips with a nice bag of nuts or fruits.

ReplyDeleteTHANK YOU FOR THE SUPPORT I THOUGHT THE SAME THING. HOPEFULLY IM NOT THE ONLY ONE THAT THINKS ITS INTERESTING. I FEEL THAT OTHER PEOPLE AND MY SELF CAN LEARN ALOT. NOT ONLY THAT BUT THEY CAN LIVE A HEALTHIER LIFE.
Good job in deciding this topic. I agree with Katherine because I would also look at labels all the time and sometimes didn't even buy certain things that I was going to before looking at the label.

ReplyDeleteGood question i didnt really think of that but i might have to do it based on processed food from the supermarket and home cooked because i will be able to see the labels on the processed foods. Although if i do some based on fast foods ill be limited because i want to be able to see the menue and see what it contains.
